REGISTERED MAINE GUIDES

Guided River & Stream Wading Fishing Expeditions

There is no purer way to connect with the Maine wilderness than standing waist-deep in a rushing river, feeling the current against your legs and watching a trout rise to a dry fly. Maine Guided Wade Fishing is about precision, patience, and immersion. At Thibodeau Outdoor Adventures, we take you off the beaten path. While float trips cover water quickly, our wade trips allow us to dissect a river piece by piece. We stalk wary native Brook Trout in mountain streams, swing streamers for Landlocked Salmon in legendary pools, and explore hidden pockets of water that boats simply cannot reach. Whether you are a seasoned fly angler chasing the "Maine Grand Slam" or a beginner looking to learn the art of reading the water, our Registered Maine Guides will put you in the perfect position for success.

Maine Guided Wade Fishing
The Advantages of Wade Fishing

Why choose a wade trip over a float trip?

It comes down to control and access.

  • Stealth: Wading allows for a quieter approach. We can creep into position behind boulders and along undercut banks without the shadow or noise of a boat alerting the fish.
  • Thoroughness: When we find a productive run, we can stay there. You can work a pool from multiple angles, changing flies and presentation until you crack the code.
  • Intimacy: You aren't just on the river; you are part of it. This is the traditional Maine sporting camp experience, refined for the modern angler.
